The Andhra Pradesh History Congress (APHC), established in 1976 with the object of promoting scientific and secular history, celebrated its silver jubilee in 2001. The Congress is a legitimate heir to an earlier tradition of historical research and scholarship by great savants like Chilukuri Narayana Rao, Chilukuri Virabhadra Rao, Komarraju Lakshman Rao, Mallampalli Somasekhara Sarma, Bhavaraju Venkata Krishna Rao, Nelaturi Venkataramanaiah, Maremanda Rama Rao, Suravaram Pratapa Reddy, H.K. Sherwani, Raviprolu Subrahmanyam, Gulam Yazdani and many more who, by their painstaking efforts, pieced together various facets of the past.
